Attached are the OHS Weekly Activities.

Friday November 15 starting at 6:00 pm is Comet Madness. We will introduce the Wrestlers, Comettes, Cheerleaders and Girls and Boys Basketball Teams. Come and see this years winter athletes. Admission: $2 per student and $3 per adult. No passes will be accepted.

All OHS/OSF fall sports athletes and parents/guardians are invited to attend the fall sports awards night that will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:30 PM at Oakwood High School. Everyone will meet in the Gymnasium for the presentation of special awards.

OSF Wrestling practice today November 11th is canceled due to weather. First practice will be tomorrow November 12th at 3:30. #ItsGreatToBeYoungAndAComet

Thank you to all of the veterans in Illinois and the U. S. for your service to our country. The Oakwood CUSD#76 schools will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Students riding the fan bus tomorrow to Pana will need to be at OHS at 9:45. You will not be allowed to ride the bus unless your name is on the sign up list. You must pay before the bus leaves if you have signed up. The cost is $11.00.

We are happy to announce that all Oakwood Schools received a “Commendable” rating on the 2019 Illinois Report Card.

The IHSA sets the ticket price for all playoff games. The ticket price will be $6.00 per person at Pana. Our ticket gate will be at the Northwest Corner of the football field.

Fans going to Pana Saturday for the playoff game have the opportunity to tailgate at Pana High School. Tailgate area for Oakwood fans will open at 10:00 am. There will be food for purchase beginning at 10:45 am; no need to pack your grill.

The players bus will leave OHS at 8:45 am Saturday morning for their playoff game against Pana. Fans have a chance to give the Comets a send off by lining Oakwood Street from Casey's to McDonald's.

Our next playoff football game will be at Pana next Saturday November 9th at 1:00 pm. We will have more information to post on Monday afternoon. #ItGreatToBeYoungAndAComet! #FTO

We will start the IHSA Football Playoffs on November 1st at 7 PM at home against Nokomis. This is a big event for our program so come out and show your support. #ItsGreatToBeYoungAndAComet @ngpreps

We are hosting the Class 2A Volleyball Regional October 28, 29, and 31 at the Oakwood Grade School. The first game starts at 5:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday. The Championship game will be Thursday at 6:00 PM. The Comets will play Monday at 5:30 PM. Admission is $5 for everyone.

Principal Appreciation! Thank you Ms. Lapenas, Mrs. Dudley, Mrs. Burton, Mr. Lee, & Mr. Odle for your leadership in OCUSD#76. You are continuously focusing on school improvement, school climate, & relationships while providing the necessary support for our students & staff.

We have made the playoffs and it is time to order your Football Playoff Gear. The order forms with your payment are due to OHS by Monday, October 28th and your gear should arrive at OHS by Friday, November 1st.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16th and Thursday, October 17th are Early Dismissal Days. Oakwood High School and Oakwood Junior High School dismiss at 1:40 PM, while Oakwood Grade School dismisses at 1:50 PM. There is no school Friday, October 18th.
