On April 8, 2018, the Oakwood Jr. High OAV visited the Oakwood Village Counsel meeting to share their efforts to help clean up Kickapoo State Park. The OAV, which stands for Our American Voice, is a civic minded organization that teaches students about community involvement, government action, and civic responsibility. Mr. Ehrett has been sponsoring this group for 2 years. This year's group decided to make several trips to Kickapoo State Park on the weekends to pick up trash throughout the park. This was an initiative selected by the students to help make Vermilion County more beautiful.
